The Show Must Go On.....!

Welcome to the Archives of
Jay County Civic Theatre, Inc
of Portland, Indiana!

Welcome to the Archive Blog of Jay Country Civic Theatre, Incorporated of Jay County, Indiana.

Jay County Civic Theatre, Inc began in the fall of 1977 when the Jay Country Civic Theater Committee produced their very first show, the little-known comedy, FORTY CARATS.
Since that time the Civic Theatre Committee has morphed into JCCT,  and live theatre has thrived in the heart of Portland, Indiana. Jay County Civic Theatre, Inc has now produced more than 100 plays, musicals, and revues with nearly 40 years of excellence in live entertainment.

In 2006 JCCT legally and officially took possession of The Peformance Company. The Performance Company, which had been established in 1982, was not a legal non-profit organization. In order to consolidate local theatre efforts and to save on overall insurance claims for both troupes, JCCT absorbed all Performance Company responsibilites.

Therefore, this Archive Blog will also feature the 30+ Performance Company shows that were produced over its 24 year life.

The mission of Jay County Civic Theatre, Inc is to cultivate creative and cultural experiences for the community. Jay County Civic Theatre, Inc will promote the development and maintenance of Theatre Art in Jay County, Indiana. We will, at all times, strive for artistic excellence through our community-based, independently-produced theatrical performances and educational programs.
